What to Expect from PRP for Joint Therapy
After a consultation and exam, we will draw a small amount of blood from your arm and place it into a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from it. Once the PRP is ready, we'll use a syringe to inject it into the joint causing you pain. This process can take anywhere from 45 – 90 minutes, depending on the number of joints you're receiving treatment for. Follow-up treatments may be necessary to maintain the pain-relieving benefits of the injections.
After your session, you may have some mild bruising and sensitivity near the injection sites. We will give you a detailed list of post-care instructions to help you recover.
